How to Use ChatGPT to Generate Website Blog & FAQ Ideas
If you’ve ever stared at a blank screen trying to come up with blog ideas or FAQs for your website, you’re not alone. The good news? There’s a simple way to get unstuck.
We love using ChatGPT to help brainstorm the exact questions your customers are already asking — and those questions are gold when it comes to content-based Search Engine Optimization (SEO).
Start With a Clear Prompt
Instead of a generic prompt like “What are 10 FAQs for the remodeling industry?” give ChatGPT more direction, your goals, and how you plan to use the content.
Below is a prompt you can use for each of your core services:
I want to position myself as a trusted expert in my [industry/field] and create content for my website that helps my business rank on search engines and in AI-generated results. My business is located in [city/state]. I provide [service #1]. I primarily work with [target audience].What are the top 10 frequently asked questions my ideal customers would have before hiring me?Please include questions that are specific, relevant to my services, and commonly searched online. Include location-based phrasing where appropriate.Do not write full answers; only provide the questions.Turn Questions Into Content
Notice I didn’t include things like how long you’ve been in business or your company’s key differentiators. What we’re looking for is the raw questions first. That’s how you uncover what people are actually searching for.
Then, as you write your answers, you bring in all those important details about your company and why someone should choose you.
Every question can become:
A blog post
A FAQ
A service page update
If someone is asking it, your website should be answering it.
Don’t Just Copy and Paste
ChatGPT is a great tool for generating ideas — but it should not replace your voice, tone, or expertise. The content it gives you is a starting point, not a finished product.
Before adding anything to your website, make sure you:
• Rewrite it in your own voice
• Add real examples from your experience
• Adjust it to reflect how you work
• Make sure it accurately represents your services
Your website should sound like you, not like everyone else using the same tool.
Why This Matters
Search engines — and your customers — are looking for content that feels real, helpful, and specific. If everyone copies and pastes the same answers, it becomes generic and less effective.
The businesses that stand out are the ones that take these ideas and turn them into something authentic, useful, and aligned with their brand.
