How to Create a Better “Get Involved” Page for Your Nonprofit Website

At Tingalls, we work with a lot of nonprofits, and one of the most overlooked areas on a website is the Get Involved page. Too often, all you see is a simple “donate” but the truth is, there are so many ways people can support your mission beyond writing a check. By listing a variety of options, you open the door to deeper engagement from volunteers, businesses, and community advocates alike.

Here are 20 ideas you can include to make your “Get Involved” page more dynamic, inspiring, and action-packed:

  1. Volunteer Your Time – Break it down by role or time commitment—event help, admin support, outreach, etc.—so people can see where they fit in.

  2. Sign Up for Your Newsletter – Make it easy to stay informed with updates, stories, and upcoming opportunities.

  3. Promote on Social Media – Encourage followers to like, comment, and share your posts. Add direct links to your active platforms.

  4. Offer Professional In-Kind Services – Call out specific needs—graphic design, accounting, grant writing, legal support—whatever fits your gaps.

  5. Join a Committee or Apply for the Board – Let visitors know how they can get involved in leadership or advisory roles. Include time expectations and impact.

  6. Host a Fundraiser – Invite individuals or businesses to organize their own fundraisers (bake sales, birthday fundraisers, workplace events, etc.).

  7. Donate Supplies – Share a list of needed items like hygiene kits, office supplies, or school supplies. Link to an Amazon wish list if you have one.

  8. Organize a Donation Drive – Offer tools and a checklist for hosting a drive at school, work, or in the neighborhood.

  9. Offer Space – If your nonprofit needs meeting space, storage, or event space, ask visitors to help fill the gap.

  10. Provide Internship or Mentorship Opportunities– Great for organizations working with youth or job-readiness programs.

  11. Sponsor an Event– Create sponsorship tiers and downloadable packets to make it easy for businesses to support your events.

  12. Start a Birthday Fundraiser – Suggest platforms like Facebook where supporters can dedicate their birthday to your cause.

  13. Share in a Blog or Newsletter – Ask businesses to feature your organization in their content or internal communications.

  14. Promote Employee Volunteer Days – Encourage companies to offer paid time off for volunteering and recognize their efforts.

  15. Match Donations or Volunteer Hours – If you work with corporate partners, highlight the value of matching gift programs.

  16. Become an Advocate – Let people take action by signing petitions, spreading awareness, or emailing elected officials.

  17. Enable Passive Giving – Establish a “round up” campaign during checkout. Those extra cents can add up!

  18. Follow and Tag You on Social – Make it easy for followers to engage with your content and help spread the word.

  19. Donate to Auctions or Raffles – List what kinds of in-kind donations you accept for fundraising events.

  20. Schedule a Tour or Coffee Chat – Invite people to connect personally and learn about your mission up close.

Design Tip:
Use buttons or icons to break up the content visually and include quick links or forms to make each action easy to complete. The easier it is to get involved, the more likely someone will.
